projects

My entry for [link]. I'm really enjoying these challenges as a way to experiment with style--I was hoping for Nicolas Marlet look with this.

This is one of a couple research speed paintings for a VisDev piece I want to do. This is what it looks like where I live!

sketching sketching sketching

I came to a realization...there ARE interesting buildings in my hometown! I just look creepy sitting in the backseat of my car drawing them. I'm still too chicken to sit on the sidewalk and draw in a town so small.

This is my fish Eduardo. I won him as a prize last year.

royal cat

This is my royal cat for Nilah's character design challenge. He's a Siamese cat emperor about to host a green tea party. I really had fun with this. I'm a big fan of super flat art, and I'd like to keep experimenting with the style.

Also... this is probably a little subconsciously inspired by Kung Fu Panda. :)

houses

I decided to drive around and draw some of the houses in my city today. That pink one is really what it looks like in person; I can never drive past it without thinking, "Barbie Dream House."

storm cottage

Just a doodle. I need to work on establishing a clear light source in my environments.

lifedrawing and motion!

I am not doing so awesome at this once a week update...

Here are some life drawings from this past week. During the last week of school, I had the amazing opportunity to meet Aaron Blaise (1, 2), who is an amazing artist and animator. His watercolor sketchbooks were especially inspiring to me--I'm hoping to bring some of his awesomeness to my own work!

And finally...Here are links to two of my animations from this past semester. Both have lots of issues (especially the aardvark animation--it isn't even finished), but I learned a lot doing both!
