Hey guys. I'm currently looking for work!
This has been 2 of the craziest weeks of my life. South Florida was hit with a hurricane last week, flooding many of the main streets in Port St. Lucie. People were stranded from their cars--couldn't get home. We had 2 days off from work because of this. On that Wednesday, my roommates and I moved into a new house. That Saturday, I took on one of the craziest freelance projects (deadline-wise) I have ever been involved in and ALSO managed to unpack my new house. On Tuesday, all the employees at Digital Domain Tradition Studios were told that we were having financial issues, but we would be OK. They told us that they wouldn't have made a press release if they hadn't found a solution to the problem. This morning, we were all told to pack up our things and head out the door. All 300+ of us. A very, very sad day for animation.
It could be worse, though. I'm healthy. I'm generally pretty happy despite all of this. I get to spend more time on my personal work now, and am looking forward to seeing my family for an extended period of time. (And being an only child for the first time in 21 years--my parents are no longer empty nesters! Haha!)

Wow--sorry to hear that! I'm sure we all have nightmare stories in some form. I know I have my fair share! So, you are truly not alone. Well, there's the fact that there were 300 of you too. :( Your talent will carry you through it all. Everything happens for a reason...just know that it's for a good reason. Good luck!!!!
I'm so sorry to read this. Even without known you, I was so happy when you started your job at DD. See a new artist starting a work in a feature film, and growing in this project was so nice. You're so talented and hopefully it's not going to take a long time before you find a new job. Enjoy your time with your family, and we're waiting to see more of your drawings soon.
