I'm having a great time at Sony. It's incredibly inspiring to be working alongside some of my favorite artists in the industry. As an intern, I'm doing fake production work for an upcoming film and also working on what may or may not become a 30-second short film before I leave. (We'll see if I have time... )
From Sketchclub this week...

Here is one of the film characters, Harriet. The first two images are part of my process--I like to play around with shapes until I find a direction I really want to go in. The last image is her posed in her final design.

ReplyDeleteMichael-- I mostly use one of the default brushes in Photoshop. It's labeled as the 100px spray brush (It looks like a tiny, pixelly spray paint splatter). After I lay out flat shapes of color, I just play around with different opacities and colors on top of it with that brush. That being said, the last image on here is traditional with just a few clean ups in Photoshop. I used markers and colored pencils for that.
